my review of the new MTV show “Chelsea Settles”
Yes Tati I agree 100% Although I never heard of this show, MTV makes it seem like fat people live terrible lives strictly because their fat. Shows like.. “I used to be fat” what the fuck? The show makes it seem like now that the kid lost all this weigh they’re happy and live a great life but when they were fat they were nothing but miserable. I like that MTV is trying to encourage people to lose weight and get happy and build self esteem but the way they go about it is ridic.
I think if you’re going to encourage people to lose weight and give them an entire show about it, they should at least include some therapists to explore their lives and really figure out the root of their unhappiness.
Appearance when you’re young and shit even when your old, can make you do a lot of things but the fact that homegirl was hiding fast food trash in her car because she didn’t want anyone to see her with it? was kind of crazy. I totally get the stigma of being the fat girl in a fast food place but once you’re done eating, why are you hoarding the trash? I’d rather have one bag to throw away than a barrel for all 20 sitting on the floor of my back seat.
I just hate that they’re showing all of this crying and all of the sadness when she’s supposed to be starting a new life and going for her dreams. I know that being fat isnt the same for everyone but does it always have to be the same formula of eating, crying, break through REPEAT?!
